ASK is an abbreviation in Faroese of ”Altjóða Skrivstovan”, which directly translated means ’the International Office’. It is the name of the international educational resource centre and study guidance office of the Faroe Islands. It is part of the University of the Faroe Islands, located on the same premises as the University’s main study administration in J.C.Svabosgøta 14, and is open Monday – Friday from 10 to 16, and Wednesdays from 10 to 18.
The main task of the International Office is to gather information on studying abroad (e.g. opportunities, courses, degrees, colleges, universities, accommodation, expenses, funding, language tests and other study related matters) and to offer study guidance to all prospective students who consider studying abroad. In addition, ASK provides service to both students at the University of the Faroes and to the general public on educational matters, both within the island community and abroad.
